What bothers me is not so much the decay of religion in society, but the absence of a substitute for moral guidance. One need not be a Christian to know right from wrong, but one needs to know right from wrong. Increasingly, we as a society don't.

Political forces, in their zest to set aside religious institutions, are the prime culprits in the trashing of ethical behavior in this country.
