Steven, the answers to your questions are most likely "probably not now," "probably not now," "probably not much," "probably not," and "probably not."

Once the UN people evacuate along with the reporters and their cameras, the East Timor problem will once again fade into obscurity (with the occasional flare-up). It seems to me that the Indonesians have learned one of the great lessons of the Balkan conflicts: get rid of the foreign reporters and their cameras before too much gets filmed. I could be wrong.
