I like the part about being compatible with DSL and allowing the phone companies to integrate video into their offerings to customers. If their relationship with AT&T opens the door for them to become the darling of the telephone companies, along with the cable companies, the potential market for them compared to current revenues,is astronomical. This is the market that Cisco has been trying to penetrate because of the 100s of billions of dollars spent every year. "The MID 8000 is the latest development in Harmonic's strategy to enable telcos to complement their existing data and telephony services with real time video and provide a one-stop shop solution to their customers" It is too soon to tell, but if they penetrate this market we could see Harmonic take a quantum leap in growth (10 to 100 bagger from here in five years).
