Audible Debuts "Justice Talking" -- First Internet-based Premier of a Public Radio Program
First Time Public Radio Program is Available Online Prior to Radio Debut
PHILADELPHIA and WAYNE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 1999-- Justice Talking, hosted by National Public Radio personality Margot Adler will become the first public radio program to premiere on the Internet when it is inaugurated on the Audible Inc. (Nasdaq: ADBL - news) web site, www.audible.com.

The appearance of Justice Talking on audible.com marks the beginning of the program's audio distribution partnership and can now be streamed or downloaded from audible.com. Each episode of the new radio show, taped before a live audience at Philadelphia's Independence Mall, is based on a pending lawsuit that raises substantial issues of constitutional law, helping listeners to better understand the differing values that lie at the heart of democracy. The inaugural program will take an hour long look at school vouchers and features a debate between legal advocates Clint Bolick and Barry Lynn.

Justice Talking is the first program about ``hot button' constitutional issues to appear on Audible, www.audible.com, one of the Internet's largest and most diverse sites for premium spoken audio for playback on personal computers and mobile digital audio devices. Individual programs or subscriptions to the entire series can be purchased at audible.com, allowing the listener to control when they hear the program, regardless of when the program is aired. In addition, the digital audio file of Justice Talking can be loaded onto any number of ``AudibleReady' portable digital audio devices listening away from the PC.

``We are confident that Justice Talking is one of those radio shows that will be considered a 'must listen`` for anyone who wants to get beyond the sound-bite dominated radio and television news,' said Don Katz, chairman and founder of Audible, Inc. ``We welcome Justice Talking to Audible's ever-growing roster of the best creators of compelling spoken audio.'

``We at Justice Talking are proud to partner with Audible and its innovative Internet audio service,' said Kathryn Kolbert, executive producer of Justice Talking. ``Now anyone can listen to the show, regardless of where they are located and when they want to hear it, furthering our goal of providing access to Justice Talking to as wide an audience as possible.'
