I only wish the brokerage firms moved with "portal speed." If others are like me, I have no trouble making investment houses (like Merrill, Schwab, and Fidelity) as my trusted financial institutions. Hell, if they can do everything banks do, pay me money market rates on cash, give me a checkbook, and EBPP there too, they can have all my money. Of course I wish I had more to give 'em, but the next sentence would help. Pardon me, Mr. Gintel, if this smacks of rooting too much, but we could use a 4 handle on this monkey.
