I think it's funny that they found gold in the samples to be used as field blanks........

A total of 18.6 grams of gold was recovered from samples taken from within the Paititi pit and processed through an independently operated on-site mill. The bulk samples comprised four separate two-tonne charges obtained over a horizontal distance of 200 metres. The four near-surface samples recovered an average 2.33 grams per tonne gold without allowances for actual mill recoveries. Results of head samples taken from the first three of the four bulk samples have now been received. Total metallic screen and fire assays averaged 3.89 grams per tonne. This equates to a preliminary mill recovery of 60 per cent. Tail sample results have not yet been received. All analysis was completed by ITS Bondar-Clegg in its Oruro, Bolivia, laboratory.
Weight of Recovered Recovered bulk gold gold/tonne samples 1 2.0 tonnes 2.10 grams 1.05 grams 2 2.0 tonnes 2.97 grams 1.49 grams 3 2.0 tonnes 4.67 grams 2.34 grams 6 2.0 tonnes 8.86 grams 4.43 grams
Eaglecrest also has processed two one-tonne samples (bulk samples No. 4 and No. 5) from presumed barren quartzite, outcrops located approximately one kilometre northwest of the Paititi pit. This site was selected as an area to obtain unmineralized samples to be inserted as field blanks as part of the company's quality control program. The two samples yielded recovered gold values of 0.59 of a gram and 0.66 of a gram per tonne, despite the fact that eight earlier one-kilogram metallic sieve analyses and 12 conventional fire assays returned negligible gold values. Head and tail sample results are pending. These results tend to confirm that large samples are required to obtain representative gold values. All bulk sampling was supervised by independent consultants and meticulous care was taken in sample collection, preparation and processing. Material is being processed through a small one-tonne-per-hour on-site mill sponsored by a Swiss company in co-operation with the Bolivian government. The mill is designed to demonstrate to artisanal miners that an environmentally friendly alternative exists to the use of mercury for gold recovery. Full details on sample handling, mill processing and cleaning are available at the Eaglecrest Web site: www.manexresourcegroup.com. A 2,500-metre diamond drill program has begun to test a near-surface bulk tonnage gold target which extends westward for three kilometres from the Paititi pit. The anomalous zone, based on extensive soil, laterite and saprolite sampling, varies from 50 to 250 metres in width and is open to the west. A VLF and induced polarization anomaly are coincident with the zone of anomalous gold values. Two holes have been completed in the Paititi pit area, while three others had to be abandoned in the mineralized zone because of bad ground and equipment difficulties. The rig has been removed temporarily from the Paititi grid to line 20, approximately 1.5 kilometres west along the three-kilometre mineralized trend. Testing in the pit area will resume following arrival of additional drilling equipment. The company is highly encouraged by both the recovered gold from the bulk samples and the head grade assay results to date. The ability to process bulk samples through an independent on-site mill is particularly useful, especially with independent consultants supervising every aspect of the operation. The results clearly demonstrate that larger samples provide a more accurate representation of the gold values in the project area. In addition to the current drill program, Eaglecrest plans to expand the scope and the size of the bulk sampling. The company plans to test along the existing grid area involving additional bulk sampling of laterite, saprolite and the presumed barren quartzite, as well as further Paititi pit sampling. The company also plans to process a number of bulk samples from conglomerate horizons that are intermittently exposed over a distance of 15 to 20 kilometres.
