Ulysses Grant graduated at the bottom of his West Point class, and was the greatest Civil War general. A gentleman who graduated near the bottom of my law school class is now a real estate mogul in New York (close to being a billionaire from what I hear), and a very generous philanthropist. McCain is a man of character. He volunteered for Vietnam combat duty (while GWB was preparing for Vietcong attacks on El Paso), was tortured by the North Vietnamese upon his capture(his conduct was praised by fellow POW's), he is the only candidate to "walk the talk" on the abortion issue by adopting a black orphan with health problems, and he makes sense on major issues to those who are not extremists. George Wilkes Bush is not fit to shine McCain's combat boots. McCain came within an inch of giving his life to protect our freedoms--he deserves more respect from people here whose "bravest acts" consist of advancing "tough" arguments on Internet forums.
