Nice Post, E-C Man...
Now, let me ask a question: Did I read it or did I dream it that Sarnoff was the company that originally developed DirecTV? Maybe, I just dreamt it. But, what an interesting dream?
Oh well... onto stuff from my waking world. With every single day that passes, I note more first fruits from the increasing integration of AOL and CBS. A confession... and this will squander what precious little credibility I now possess... I am an AOL customer. I know, I know. (By the way, I also happen to be somebody who used to be a devoted fan of the Houston Oilers. I know, I know, I know.) Nicholas Negroponte, my sincerest apologies. I realize in hindsight that I should have organically grown my own browser using gene splices from a particularly bright cousin (as opposed to my particularly un-bright cousin), James Whitmore's MiracleGro, and some spare Linux that I just happened to have laying around my forebrain, but... I didn't, okay?
Anyway, back to the point (sort of), tonight I noticed on CBS more tub-thumping for AOL. And, on AOL, I noticed more tub-thumping for CBS. And then, mirabile dictu (I've got to use big words to make up for my AOL confession), I got to thinking about our little WaveExpress Board of Directors announcement. Then, I remembered something way back from Gilder's Life After Television. Wasn't there a mention in there of some fellow who Peter Sprague was friends with who was some big muckee-muck and grand poobah at CBS?
Oh, well, as PS himself said on the MetaMarkets site just a few days back... I guess we just have to "stay tuned"...
Best Regards... and Smiling...
