No reason for the slide......Jeremy Bunting, a communications technology analyst for Thomas Weisel Partners LLC, said Broadcom's focus on broadband
access has enabled the Irvine, Calif. company to ''get in dominant positions in all of those markets.''

There's no reason for Broadcom's success to stop, he added. ''The markets they are in are strikingly high-growth (and are)
expected to expand at an annual rate of over 70 percent for the next few years.''

Nicholas and Broadcom's other founder, co-chairman and vice president Henry Samueli, each have 28 percent voting control of
the firm, which they began in 1991 and took public in April 1998.
