Grant's skill as a General was recognized by both contemporaries and later historians. If his victories came by force of numbers alone, then every Union general would have done as well as he since almost all had large numbers at their command. My statement wasn't inflammatory. I think it's a more than fair conclusion that people here, unlike McCain, did not volunteer for combat duty in Vietnam, or anywhere else. I actually once put out a call for Vietnam vets to comment on a certain issue, and only one person identified himself as a vet. Others are veterans of the verbal Internet wars. I know that you have been wounded in those Wars many times, and shall be awarded the Purple Keyboard <g>.
