Last post on selective disclosure of material info to institutional shareholders and analysts. Okay, I've worked in the legal field since 1983, own a small litigation support firm in the SF Bay Area and have worked on quite a few large, complex securities fraud cases (Technical Equities and Harry Stern ring a bell with anyone?).

In the age of the Internet when conference calls call be broadcast for free over the web to all shareholders, I truly believe companies now have no excuse for not sharing all material info with all shareholders. In the future, I hope G* management will keep smaller shareholders more informed about what statements they make in conferences such as the one held in the last couple days. I am still upset that LOR/G* denied my request to attend the conference as a G* shareholder.

Yes, I understand that companies need to woo the big boys who buy millions of shares. But, as Intel has found, the smaller shareholders are the buy-and-holders and lead to a more stable shareholder base than the big boys who blow out of positions at a moment's notice. The idea that the big boys demand an "edge" in exchange for their large share purchases is extortion in my book and technically is illegal. Okay, enough of that rant.
