The quiet period for INTC began today. Yesterday was the last chance for a pre-announcement and I suspect that is why the stock drifted. Many people were disappointed they didn't get the pre-annoucement. But I agre with you, I don't think they have to and I believe they wish to surprise to the upside when the real announcement is made in October. My est. is 64 cents which is 7 cents higher than the First Call concensus.
