Doltan! is correct--Lautenberg is definitely retiring. Grant probably will not run since he was indeed an anti-Whitman candidate, and now she isn't running. The question of who will run for the Repubs is very much in the air. There is a strong movement afoot to draft former Rep. Dick Zimmer. The head of the New York/New Jersey Port Authority Lewis Eisenberg could run, and if he did he'd have a big war chest.

On the Democrat side, there will be a pretty divisive primary between Jim Florio and Jon Corzine.
