Ok, so what is the best play on Bluetooth?

I don't know, but while we wait for Mats answer take a look at: SiGe Microsystems, sige.com. I am a shareholder.

This company is producing components using Silicon Germanium technology which offers lower power consumption and higher frequency than conventional Silicon. I believe they're working on Bluetooth components, but nothing is announced. They recently hired a team of about a dozen RF designers away from Nortel Networks.

SiGe is not publicly traded but is currently engaged in a new round of equity financing. Contact the company if you're interested.

SiGe is almost a pure wireless communications company. Other players in Silicon Germanium technology include IBM (not much leverage here) and Temic / Atmel in Germany. Maxim is a major SiGe customer.

OT: SIGE and SIGEM Inc. ( sigem.ca ) used to be the same company but they split up. SIGEM produces value added products mainly for GPS and location tracking. Their customers include Mobility Canada, GE Capital, and XyPoint. SIGEM will begin public trading in one or two weeks on the Canadian Dealer Network (I don't know the ticker symbol). I am a shareholder in SIGEM.

The above is provided for information purposes only, I can't guarantee it's accuracy.

Regards, Gofer
