StarOffice's real value to SUNW is not in the placing of StarOffice on everyone's desktops whether they be Linux, Windows or OS2. It's the network application "StarPortal" that SUNW is after. Available over the internet to the entire world in an instant via Java; storage on the internet via Jiro. This can only happen in a broadband enabled internet. As software frees itself of the OS it will truly be forced to compete on its own merits of design and implementation.
