My main concern with Novell is there PE of around 28. Fundamentaly I can't see the rational for maintaining such a high PE. Like it or not they are losing share to NT and are in no way growing in such a way to justify a 28. Two growing companies, Intel and Sun are having trouble maintaning there lower PEs. I welcome comments on how a 28 is justified.

BTW I work for what I feel is a typical large installation we have around 300 Netware servers with about 20,000 users, but I see the number of NT servers growing every week on our network. Our users are ambivalant or don't like NetWare and want it replaced and our technical support staff likes NetWare and wants to see it continue. So the question for us is which is more important .... user acceptance and integration with their desktop or backroom support. There are a lot more users than there are of support personnel AND they pay the bills. At a 28 PE my thinking is that it will have to come down a lot more before Novell even becomes a takeover consideration. Please comment.....

The above comments reflect my individual reality. I made a lot of money on Novell in their hay day but bailed at about $29 and I am a CNE for what ever that's worth. Remember it is marketing and not the best technology that always wins...OS/2, Macintosh, StreetTalk, and VHS come to mind...
