You don't need to know about Pokemon, it's for little kids. It's Japanese video, which I don't care for, although some love it. The premise is that the Pokemon are magical creatures with special powers, and there are teams of kids who try to catch them and then they control them and can use them to fight battles with other kids who have Pokemon, but there are no actual injuries, as it's on a kid level. And there's also a video game where the kids try to defeat, catch and collect all of them, I think there's a couple of hundred. Ben, who is a little old for this, has more than anyone I've heard of, but he's a video game nut. And there's a Pokemon card game, with new Pokemon cards coming out every week. And Pokemon games for the Game Boys. And then special Pokemon game boys, in red or blue, and you can link them up and play each other, of course we have all of this. And pocket Pikachu, which are miniature video things you carry around and play with. And other Pokemon stuff. Nick has a Pikachu tee-shirt, for example.
Yesterday, I was wondering how much money I've spent on stuff like that, but decided I didn't really want to know. |
