Wow! Tom just blows me away. Got an early 30th birthday present today in the mail from Tom.....10K shares of restricted ECNC stock! I am not required by any rule or regulation I can find to disclose this...but feel it important to me personally to disclose it since I am quite active in posting on SI, RB and started the Yahoo ECNC Stock Club. I, nor Tom or the company, have anything to hide on this subject.
The stock is 144 stock and can not be traded at all for one year, in the second year it is free trading but subject to restrictions and it is only fully freely trading with no restrictions after two years. I have no present intention of doing anything but store it in my safe deposit box for at least 5 years....as I have previously stated with regard to the other 2600+ shares I have scraped and starved to purchase with my own meager funds.
Tom had told me recently he wanted to give me a gift of some shares as a sign of appreciation for some of my voluntary efforts on behalf of the company...not for posting...but some marketing ideas I have provided, investors I have apparently brought into the company by way of introduction to our DD, and assistance with distribution of factual information and defense of falsities and harmful rumors. I do not want to blow my own horn....only explain that what you have seen on line is only a small portion of my efforts for the company.
I want to explain so others can see and better understand Tom's willingness to reward those who provide value and assistance to the company, whether as an employee or as a volunteer just having fun and trying to build value into his/her investment. Prior examples are JM Hollen who has gone from ordinary (as much as he can be) investor to Director of Corporate Alliances....because he had some ideas he pursued which assisted the company greatly. OC Mayor...who was one of the early SI thread posters who has done great things for them company in pursuit of his knowledge of computers, the internet and wagering. Maybe someday I will be so blessed as to join their ranks as an official staff member of ECNC!!! (dream, dream, dream.....corporate counsel would be nice!!!) <VVVBG>
I know many will take this negatively....for that I am a bit troubled by the gift. Regardless, I think I would be a fool to not accept it...so I accept it humbly with the greatest joy and appreciation. It means alot to me and my family given our financial situation at this early stage in my career and desire to be a bigger part of this company.
Please understand I have and have not ever had any agreement or understanding with the company or anyone else to promote, hype, or otherwise spread information or opinions about ECNC on the internet or otherwise. All my efforts have been utterly voluntary to date and for the benefit of other investors/potential investors, my own enjoyment and to do my little part to add value to ECNC by getting the word out accurately and factually.
I can not emphasize enough that this is a gift of appreciation for my ideas and voluntary support of the company and Tom. It is not a fee for services rendered or to be rendered in the future. I am under no obligation to continue to participate on any thread or to hold any free trading shares of stock I own.
I intend and pledge to all to continue without change in doing all the things I have done before. If I change....jump my case immediately please!!! If anything...I now have an incentive to do even more to help out Tom and the company!
I also think it is important to thank each and every one of you, and my friends and ECNC family for helping me pursue my ideas and thoughts here on-line. Scoobey, Dai, Stevek, JMH, Fliby, Rob, Manny, Jerry, Fatt Matt, Lord E......so many others who helped and supported my efforts on-line to date....I truly appreciate and value your friendships and help with setting up and maintaining the DD Central thread (gotta work on it today) and the Yahoo Club as well as the ideas we share in PM and email. Everyone keep up the good work and our joint efforts will allow no alternative but success for eConnect in the future!
I suppose if any of you doubt my personal integrity in accepting this gift or the motives and integrity of Tom in giving it to me....then I and the company have failed in our efforts here to show as openly and factually as possible what this is all about.
