Nikita, You beat me to it. I was going to ask you the same question. I spoke with Don Caron yesterday, and he did not mention any particular news. He did confirm that a private placement was being finalized at a price that was higher than the stock was trading that day. We discussed all the properties, and the one he was most excited about was one I was not familiar. Although it is in the Solomon Islands, he said it looked identical to the OK Tedi mine which is a major mine in Papua New Guinea. He said that all the markings and coloring were almost identical. They are calling this project "OK Tedi II". He also said that drilling would start around June. From all this I did not get the impression that anything urgent was afoot. I had noticed that the charts were showing strength, but nothing to cause me to expect this many shares. I thought that I still had a few more days to pick up some more shares for under $1.00, but I may have been wrong. I'm not complaining though. I also received a packet from Don that included a copy of the March,1997 Asian World Stock Report. In the center of this magazine is a land ownership map of Papua New Guinea. I was amazed at the large number of strategically placed properties held by WPI through it's wholly owned subsidiary Magma Mines. They virtually surround existing mines like OK TEDI, Freida Nena, Wafi, and Laloki. If they consider these as secondary targets, I can't wait til June for drilling to start. Let's hope that today's volume is a sign of good things ahead.--Ron
