Akula, I think one thing that just about everyone can do to help make the world a better place, would be to do some type of volunteer work in our own communities. Because, let's face it, if we own or have access to use a computer, and have the skills needed to use one, there are probably many people in our own communities who are much worse off than we are. Just about all of us can find some cause we believe in that could use some help. I know a lady who looks so old and hunched over that you wouldn't think she could even drive a car. But she delivers "Meals on Wheels" to people who are housebound 5 days a week. She's a real inspiration to me.
Another benefit I've found from volunteer work is that when your are helping someone who is less fortunate than yourself, it's real hard to feel sorry for yourself. You usually go home feeling good that you've helped someone, and definitely counting your blessings. They say charity begins at home. In this case home being your own community. C Kahn
