The village is quiet today! Your correspondent was quoted on TV3 news at 6pm, with my UN flag, but of course they leave off the comments which are best! Depending on your point of view.

Retail sales in Auckland are down a whopping 50% as people abandon the city to the politicians and the most absurd overkill of police and military. They think this is Chicago or something? The traffic has all gone. They could have invaded and kicked out the Indonesians with the mob of enforcement they have here!

We are leaving town too! Off to Mount Maunganui!http://www.surf.co.nz/camera.html

There are a few cars out today. yellowpages.co.nz

You can watch the Presidential motorcades here [if you can figure out when they'll travel]. Reload to see the changing scene. In a few years, It will watch every move! And if It sees anything untoward, It will do little things like put barrier arms across the motorway

But mostly we are having cups of tea and reading the paper this morning. Nice day again. The APEC leaders can go for a nice walk around the many parks. Take in a few sights. I bet they wonder where the people are.

The UN will sort out Timor after quarter of a century of mayhem there, with Moslems and the Indonesian military killing Catholics and cashing in on resources. Jiang will get the message that Taiwan is NOT to be attacked. This is an easy way for Clinton to make that point.

"Watch what happens to Indonesia, Jiang, and we did bop you on the nose in Belgrade don't forget and we've got plenty more where that came from. So don't mess with Taiwan".

"Indonesia won't get away with it and neither will you!"

"Now, let's make nice on some WTO stuff."

Meanwhile, how about Globalstar selling handsets over the Web? That's good. Reasonable too that they will report minutes sold, not handsets or subscribers. That's what matters to us. But they can't be right that they don't know subscribers. Every handset has it's own data, so they know exactly how many handsets are connecting to Globalstar.

But the number of handsets sold is good information that should be told too.

Okay, CU later
Maurice

PS: Australia, New Zealand and USA backed Indonesia in Timor and now we have blood on our hands [arms sold to Indonesia and political support given]. Freedom lovers? I don't think so. We heard on these threads how much the USA values human life higher than others. True enough - sold down the river into death and slavery for a higher price than anyone else could offer. Call me cynical.
