Hi kash johal; There is no doubt that Rambus, is the choice for a certain class of designs.

If you only need 32 or 64MB, but you still need a big bandwidth, then RDRAM is the way to go, provided you don't need short latencies, and you can afford the increased manufacturing and design costs, and accept the higher risk of design failure. In fact, for a design that just has to have the high bandwidth, a DDR or PC100 system would take more power, largely because it would provide a lot more memory than required.

Rambus is a trade off just like everything else we do. It is not a miracle technology.
