If you think it is meaningless, then I suggest that you look at the period BEFORE 1929. Go back to 1927-1928 and see how long the negative divergence was maintained. Also look at the years before 1974. This bull will not last forever. Even though the A/D divergence can't be used to time the market, short term, it indicates that the end of this bull market is coming. The divergence will eventually correct after the next bear market
