The only problem with this scenario is exactly what kinds of assets that $12 Trillion dollars worth of savings has been invested in. Much of it was in the form of JGBs, and Japan will have to pay those bonds off from Govt coffers. Anyone here have any idea where the Japanese govt is suddenly going to come up with Trillions of dollars to pay those bonds off?? Is the only recourse, debt monetization (printing yen)??
