EAGLE ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES LTD. (Reno, NV) On September 3, 1999, Brian Wilmot, CEO and Chairman of the Board, announced the COMPLETED ACQUISITION of ZAWTECH INTERNATIONAL, INC.(Atlanta, GA). ZawTech, with manufacturing in Idaho Falls, ID, acquired the exclusive, national licenses for the patented Cryogenic and Laser ZAWCAD (Zero Added Waste Cutting, Abrading and Drilling) technologies from the U.S. Government, Department of Energy, technology transfer program. Lockheed Martin Corporation, a participant in the technology development program and licensor of the ZAWCAD technology, is also a customer and overseas distributor. "The two systems have generated overwhelmingly positive response. Initial orders have come from Progressive Technologies, a Boeing Company, Environmental Protection Engineering of Piraeus, Greece, and Newpark Shipbuilding and Repair, Inc. of Houston," said Wilmot. Deposits of $995,000 have been received on these orders which could generate $8.2 million in sales.
Cryogenic ZAWCAD's high-velocity jets of liquefied low temperature nitrogen are precisely delivered for cutting and drilling operations, for surface coatings removal, and for hazardous and nuclear waste decontamination. Traditional abrasive, water jet or chemical coatings removal add volume to the waste stream and can require additional costly secondary waste treatment. Cryogenic ZAWCAD, however, quickly reverts to an inert gas taking none of the waste or contaminated particulate with it.
Advantages of the Cryogenic ZAWCAD system are:
(1) Liquid nitrogen does not create a secondary waste stream,
(2) Nitrogen is inexpensive and available everywhere,
(3) Nitrogen is extremely safe with no fire, explosion, or oxidation reaction,
(4) Removes paint from aircraft and ship hulls, and scale, rust, and sludge from hazardous waste storage tanks and nuclear contaminated surfaces,
(5) Eliminates the use of abrasives and EPA restricted solvents, and
(6) Has great range of power delivered with precision and consistent results.
Laser ZAWCAD technology uses a high power remote laser which passes through a totally unique proprietary fiber optic cable delivery system. Laser ZAWCAD delivers a strong rapid pulse which not only gives the laser beam more punch, but enhances its ability to remotely reach into difficult areas to clean, strip or cut. The Laser ZAWCAD is compact, portable, ideal for job site tasks, and designed for safe remote operation up to 495 feet from the treated surface.
"These two powerful complimentary cleaning and cutting technologies offer alternatives that will save millions of waste disposal dollars by eliminating secondary waste production, handling and decontamination," said Wilmot.
