Our club is trying to figure out what investors will do as year 2000 approaches. We have found out that August mutual fund redemptions in August were the highest since 1987. We are looking at moving to the sidelines all monies in mutuals that focus on global, overseas and international funds. Then we look to consider doing likewise to all mutuals that focus on US holdings and most stocks.

We have already decided to move out of our foreign positions but are trying to decide what to do with our US holdings. We also figure that Greenspan may up interest rates in OCT and the high price of oil may work its way into the PPI and CPI next month.

Given the overvalued high tech sector the possible rate hike plus investors shying away from putting in new money to the stock market or worse taking money out we are giving this matter serious thought.
