Not one of Woody's best efforts, but pretty funny.... No- but perfect dinner theatre fare- (do you remember our discussion about being in theatre and having these "WHY do we always have to do this terrible lightweight stuff for the common people?" I guess that was one of the fluffs) This was at Swift Creek Mill Playhouse outside Richmond. My first "professional" job there was as a Gemini in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum"-1970. One of the owners was a little Jewish man who was a wonderful Zero Mostel type, so they did anything with a great role for him. Let's see- I think I made 5.00 a night and dinner. My husband was a lead and made 10.00 and waited tables. We lived with a commune of theatre majors in a rented house furnished mostly with mattresses, great sound systems, and drug paraphernalia. We drove an old VW van and my parents were in apoplexy about the transformation of their perfect daughter into a theatre hippie. They were incredibly relieved when I got my first job as a probation officer.
