What do you get for your monthly TiVo service charge? Less is More to me means one ordinary car and renting. I just love foisting my headaches to the landlord. And my most recent Ford Taurus is almost NO maintenance. But while I'm on the subject of high tech headaches, I am hot on MP3 downloads to flash memory chip machines like the Diamond Rio. My Rio 500 is on order; it's major advantage is that one can download using your USB port. Imagine, I'll finally have a use for that useless port! I think this is clearly at technological leap offering definite advantages. Flash memory is more compact than CD players and is jog/bump proof. The problem now is that the chips are expensive relative to CD's, and the record labels have not signed up yet. So you mostly can download unknown artists. BUT, WHEN THE KNOWN ARTISTS CONTRACTS EXPIRE THEY CAN CHEAPLY AND EASILY HAVE THEIR OWN WEBSITES FOR DOWNLOADS. Also you don't need a CD ripper with an MP3 player; you can download right to the playback device. I just don't see TiVo offering clear cut advantages. If you want a list of MP3 stocks, I can send them your way. THIS IS SO NEW THAT NO ONE KNOWS WHAT'S HAPPENING!
