Joan, What a wonderful idea and post (the usual stuff from you). Techride would make a good movie as it is life in motion. All that comes with life, the good times, the bad, just like life. And like life if you are lucky, you get to make some great friends and share a part of you with them.
Joan and some Techriders know the story of Bud Fox. That alone is what made the first Techride (AOL pre SI) special. Techrider's know his story but Bud never told it to his Dr., Wife, parents, friends, lovers or other vets. He told it on Techride for Veterans Day 1998 and it helped Bud to tell it, more than most will ever know. Some people wrote and thanked Bud for the story, mostly Vets who have never really talked either.
Techride has a special power, it always has, the Techriders. That power is a lesson in life, we bring out the best in each other, good people do that. I count myself lucky to have such friends as I do here. And as Jed says "Joanie n sum of us goes backs a long tine".
Techride has been around since 1997 on several different places. Several people have e-mailed me about the people of Techride. Glenn once asked me where I ever found a group like that? I told him easy, I'd picked some of them from all over the internet but that most Techriders pick themselves. Some day I'll have to tell you all about the day Joan met BLUE n Jed. Fond memories.
All I know is that Techride or should I say the people of Techride, have made me richer. I'm not talking about money, though Techride has made me plenty (and same goes for others). I'm richer for the friends I have. And Joan and I always go around about this but let me say, YOU are the best!
