i just returned from the north woods

deer were everywhere!!!

in the early morning, little bands of them would meander in the woods. i would quietly watch them from my balcony, while i sipped coffee. the fawns were darling, with their lil white tails, mama near by, not wandering to far from her. they seem like such gentle creatures.

there were also black and fire engine red squirrels!!! and chippies galore. i fed them peanuts and almonds. when i came downstairs they would be waiting at the patio door for their yums. one lil red one followed me about, when i was on the island, he was too. i kept a rich supply of peanuts on me.
