I don't know about Africanized Bees but we have ground hornets. Look like sweat bees and live in the ground. A sting sends out a signal for all the others to attack. I went into the Illinois River once after 4 stings. A mile up the road a guy was mowing ditches and they found him dead with over 1,000 stings.

Once I was drilling holes for a fence with an International 400 and disturbed a nest. Instantly 1,000s attacked the tractor but not me. I moved very carefully getting out of there.
