The consensus of 4 earnings projections for 3Q is exactly breakeven. This is in spite of CHK earning $.04 a share last quarter and commodity prices being higher in 3Q vs 2Q. The _high earnings number for 3Q is a mere penny higher than the 2Q figure.

Hopefully all these so-called experts are wrong. I seem to recall from the 2Q conference call that the CHK management was pretty cautious about production levels for 3Q, kind of like they were gearing us up for a decline in 3Q levels vs. 2Q. This would make sense since their 2Q drilling activity was pretty low.

One thing we know about here is Aubrey's ability to hype a stock!
