Again OT... Mike, a book that I'd highly recommend is "Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media". The book was made into a mini-documentary for PBS several years ago and that's how I learned of him and his writings. There is a chapter in the book comparing the ongoing East Timor tragedy to the killing fields of Cambodia and how the US media ignored the story for years. It's hard to believe how little of the truth we really know about major news events when they're filtered by the major media. That fact makes the internet an even more powerful tool for "the manufacture of consent". db
