My son goes to a school where I pay his tuition so he may attend. The graduation rate at the school, which BTW has grades K-4 thru 12th, is above 99%. The students as a whole score 25% higher on state testing then the public school system's students.

97% of all the graduates go on to complete college.

I chose to give my son a better education than is possible in the public system and I have to pay for this choice. I also have to pay the same state tax rate as someone that has their child in a state tax payer supported public school.

Is this a fair system when I get to pay twice for my son's education? The obvious answer is no. Why not give the parents off all students vouchers. This would allow even the poorest of kids to attend highly rated top notch schools like I pay for.
