Dell Computer Having Trouble Hiring for Its German Operations Frankfurt, Sept. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Dell Computer Corp., the biggest direct seller of personal computers, is having trouble finding employees to handle sales operations for its German branch, even though Germany's unemployment rate is 10.5 percent and Dell is offering a starting salary of 65,000 deutsche marks ($34,476), the daily Bild-Zeitung reported, citing Ulrich Breimann, head of Dell personnel in Germany. The company, based in Round Rock, Texas, near Austin, is seeking 30 people this year and another 70 next year to answer customer calls and sell computers. The company also pays premiums that are linked to the number of computers an employee sells. |
