They didn't teach evolution in your school either?
As a matter of fact they didn't. Biology class was a matter of memorizing the latin names of a bunch of different plants and animals and didn't make much sense. We cut apart some worms and snails and starfish and frogs but there was no discussion about how these animals were related. The textbook, as poor as it was, was confiscated about 6 weeks before the end of class (I later learned the last chapter had a brief and vague lesson on evolution).

Biology was not required for me in college, but I got ahold of a textbook and read it anyway. Then I went to the source, Darwin, Gould, and Dawkins. It's all clear now.
