DRILLING CONTINUES – ASSAYS PENDING
AT FERGUSON LAKE Ni-Cu-Co-Pd-Pt PROJECT
NUNAVUT, CANADA

Starfield Resources Inc. (“Starfield”) commenced a major Summer exploration program at the wholly owned Ferguson Lake, Nunavut, Canada property on July 12, 1999. The $800,000 exploration program was designed to (1) test through progressive stages, for additional mineral resources in the vicinity of a deposit partially defined by Inco Limited during the 1950's; (2) test the South Discovery Zone by shallow drilling; (3) test the West Zone South by shallow drilling, and (4) test the East zone geophysical anomaly some 1.6 kilometers to the East of two successful holes drilled during the Spring 1999 program. Mineralized sections encountered during the current phase of drilling are presently being split and submitted for assay. Samples are currently being analyzed by the Company's assayer (Ecotech Laboratories) and results are expected to be received shortly. Results will be published on a timely basis as they become available.

Starfield's Summer program is comprised of airborne and ground magnetic geophysical surveys, survey grid construction, geological mapping, core drill tests and base line environmental studies.

A detailed geological base map for the project area was compiled during the season by Dr. M. Henderson, on contract to the Company. Dr. Henderson, a noted expert in interpreting the geological environment of the southern Nunavut region, has provided Starfield a geological framework to aid in interpretation of current geophysical survey data and earlier drill and prospecting results.

Additional magnetic geophysical survey coverage was completed to extend and better define anomalies located during the exploration program conducted by Starfield during this past Spring; and to cover additional favourable geological environments identified by mapping and prospecting work. Airborne magnetometer surveys now suggest that the anomaly containing the Main Zone could exceed 15 kilometers in length. A total of 12 holes (Nos. 99-6 to 99-17) have been completed to date during the Summer program for a total of 2300 meters.

Starfield has recently acquired from Inco Limited, copies of certain portions of their data base pertaining to exploration at Ferguson Lake in the 1950's. Of particular interest to Starfield's technical team is the information contained in the drill logs for 108,000 feet (32,918 meters) of core drilled during the period 1952 to 1955. This Inco data will assist the company in modeling the existing partially defined deposit and correlating it with the deeper sections now being drilled on the West Zone.

The Company's drill program is continuing.

ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
