The Globe and Mail reports in its Monday edition that Colleen Moorehead has
helped push E*Trade Canada to triple-digit growth. Reporter Richard
Blackwell says that as the new president of Versus Technologies, she has a
tiger by the tail, involved in a field undergoing unprecedented growth. The
41-year-old president of upstart Versus, while one of the younger top
executives in the brokerage industry, admits to feeling old compared with
many of her youthful staff members. At the behest of some of these
youngsters, she now sports a modest toe ring. Ms. Moorehead says that now
she is a happening kind of girl. Despite the lightheaded attempt to stay
cool, Ms. Moorehead is a serious and senior player in a segment of the
brokerage business that is seeing unprecedented growth, often at the
expense of slower-moving bigger companies. As president of Toronto-based
Versus, she is charged with running the day-to-day operations of its
Internet-trading system, E*Trade Canada, along with Versus's other business
that provides trading services and technology to institutional investors.
