In case you didn't see this on SH; it's excerpted from a 68(?) page review that offshore was kind enough to post:

"EXECUTIVE SUMMARY ================= On March 3rd, 1998, Kinross Gold USA Inc. entered into an Exploration and Operating Agreement with Mirandor Exploration (USA) Inc. and Exploration Mirandor to explore, evaluate, develop and mine mineral resources at the Railroad Project. The project area is located in the Carlin Trend southeast of Elko, Nevada. Kinross considers the property a gold prospect, however, numerous historic silver-base metal mines are contained within its boundaries.
The inital months following entry into the agreement Kinross focused on data consolidation and entry into an electronic format. These actions provided the basis for evaluating the large database of information that has accumulated since modern mineral exploration started in 1980. Since 1980, ten companies have explored portions of the current property. The data produced from these ventures were analyzed by Kinross employees and contract geologists to permit the team to develop a methodical approach to evaluating the bulk of the property in the first year of the agreement.
The methods implemented consisted of soil and rock sampling, reverse circulation drilling, geophysics and geologic mapping. The 2,942 soil samples were collected from seven geologically and geographically coherent grids or arrays. Each grid was oriented or tested for preferential depth of sample acquisition and sieve size prior to assaying whenever possible. Additionaly, 507 rock samples were collected where outcrops occured, allowing supplemental data for geologic mapping and target definition. Drilling was exclusively by reverse circulation methods and conducted by Johnson Drilling Company. A total of 58 holes were drilled representing 35,845 feet during the 1998 campaign. All holes were surveyed on the surface by CLD Surveying or Apex Surveying and Mapping and downhole surveys were conducted primarily by Silver State Surveys. All assay samples were processed through the Chemex Labs preparation facility in Elko and were tested for gold plus 32 trace elements. The multi-element analysis provided a means for determining base metal mineralization and the utilization of pathfinder elements that help predict gold mineralization. The geophysics employed was an aeromagnetic survey purchased from PRJ and was interpreted by Mr. Jose[ph Ansman, an exploration geophysicist.
The field program was initiated on 5/20/98 and ended on 11/19/98 spanning six months of exploration activity. Permitting of these activities was conducted through the local Elko office of the Bureau of Land Management and the State of Nevada Bureau of Mining Regulation and Reclamation. Total 1998 disturbance has been calculated at ~ 5 acres while reclamation totaled 2 acres. Two new notices and four amendments to existing notices were filed with these agencies.
The results of the 1998 program are encouraging for the POD, Bald Mountain, Elliot High Ranch and LT-NW Elliot drill areas. Previously defined gold mineralization in the POD and Elliot High Ranch has been complemented and future drilling will be isolated to further resource growth for these deposits. The Bald Mountain fault has indicated previously undefined gold mineralization and this area will be closely scrutinzed next year. The LT-NW Elliot area has shown much promise geographically and through surface geochemistry but as yet not delivered on gold mineralization. The 1999 program will attempt to decipher this enigma and hopefully create a new resource for this portion of the property."
