Gimbel Vision has signed an agreement with Brian G. Gillespie, MD, BSc, to be
the associate medical director of a Gimbel Vision centre to be located in
Winnipeg, Man. Dr. Gillespie is an experienced surgeon who received his medical
degree from the University of Manitoba in 1983. He completed a residency in
ophthalmology at Long Island Jewish Medical Centre and a fellowship in
ophthalmic pathology, oncology and ocular plastics at Manhattan Eye, Ear &
Throat Hospital. Dr. Gillespie is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the
University of Manitoba.
Glenn Gimbel, president and chief executive officer of Gimbel Vision, said: "We
are excited about the addition of Dr. Gillespie to our organization. His excellent
credentials and years of surgical experience will be a strong asset to our team of
Gimbel Vision surgeons. Over the years, thousands of our clients have travelled
from Manitoba to our other Canadian centres, making the Gimbel organization
well-known to the citizens of Manitoba. Experience has shown that this brand
name recognition provides an excellent base of support for new patients at Gimbel
Vision centres."
The company continues to focus its growth efforts on the North American market
and anticipates the announcement of additional new centres before the end of the
year.
