Slightly off subject... does anyone here have any experience with the IRL software advertised at the QP2
website? Know of any links to forums about the product?

The main forte of IRL software is its capability for identifying stocks with high relative strength, high group strength and high earnings strength, ERG stocks. The software also comes with Ian Woodward rules for deciding when to buy and sell ERG stocks. Instead of me poorly explaining what they are it will be a lot easier if you go to IRL's web page and read about them for yourself. Go to:

and click on "High Growth Investing" at the bottom of the page. Besides containing an introduction to "High Growth Investing" there is a link there to a bulletin board system with about 200 messages from users of Ian's system.

The IRL software comes with a spreadsheet style filter, scan program. You click on a cell and a drop down list of items appear. You select the item you want to filter on. The next cell in the row lets you select the comparison type. For example equal to, greater than, less than and so on. The last cell in a row contains the comparison value. Most likely this is very similar in operation to the version of Quotes Plus that uses a table instead of a programming language to scan stocks. A couple of nice features in the IRL filter that aren't in version 2.1 of the Quotes Plus Scan Program is the capability to use words contained in the description Quotes Plus supplies with each stock to select stocks and to select stocks that had a IPO within the last year.
