I think that this issue should be decided by the citizens of Kansas. Do you really think that? I'm starting to feel like too much localization of laws is going to thrust us right back into civil rights issues and other matters, where the country is deeply divided. I don't say this lightly, because I live in a very liberal area and would like everything here to reflect my views on everything. But the truth is, I'm not comfortable letting every little jurisdiction go its own ways in educational, and especially legal matters. Particularly since many of these states are receiving federal subsidies.
