Re StrongARM royalties: I brought up the issue as ARM's share price did not seem to move (up) on the Intel (IDF) announcements when ARM was mentioned. It seemed like Intel had usurped the StrongARM architecture; but StrongARM is actually an ARM trademark. I guess there is quite a perception disconnect regarding ARM's potential c/w the Internuts vis-a-vis valuation in US investment circles. (The continued existence of ARM Financial doesn't help!)

I checked out the ARM plc site today: they don't disclose any of the royalty arrangements with any of the partners. Seems Nintendo's Gameboy, Sony's PlaystationII, and Sega's Dreamcast all have a touch of ARM...networking processors... cellphones...PDAs...automobile microprocessors (upto 30 per car!). Yes, very encouraging
