Religion is for people who must have an authority figure in their pitiful little lives in order to develop some integrity of being. They refuse to accept that they, and only they, are the final arbiter of their actions. So they believe and have faith in an ultimate judge to forgive them for their indiscretions. Freedom is only an unrealized concept for people with religion. Responsibility is another.
