"Chief executive Larry Ellison said last month that "the quarter looks good." He said the company had continued to make progress on its plan to cut $1 billion in expenses over the next 18 months, and he predicted the software maker's operating margins would improve.
"People are buying the stock because they're thinking the quarter is going to begood," said Andrew Brosseau, an analyst with SG Cowen, who has a 'buy' rating on the stock.
Oracle is forecast to report earnings of 16 cents a share when it releases its first-quarter results according to analysts polled by First Call.
Oracle shares jumped 31 percent on July 16 after the company reported better-than-expected fiscal fourth-quarter profits.(A lot of folks including me, think ORCL will also beat the whisper number of .18) Good luck to all
