jbe - not the place for this, but our willing accomplices in the Clinton (In)justice department are well positioned to not only monitor but hammer "inappropriate" sites, and soon it will be not only policy without the backing of legislation, but the law of the land as the various federal agencies install their probes deeper and deeper into the net.

Legislation is years behind technology in the privacy arena. It will be far too late to correct the invasions that we will see on the fringes of various issues.

Unlike outright censorship of "broadcast" radio and TV, the Clinton administration and the congress have opened the door to the ultimate censorship weapon on the internet before a foothold could be established. You have just experienced it, and no matter how many sites decry it or rant and rave, it is simply too late to bar federal intervention.

We have lost the privacy war before it even started.
