3Com announced spinoff today; if a sale were in the works, it would not have announced spinoff. That would mean a hostile takeover. I don't think Qcom would do that, especially since there is working arrangement with Palm.

I don't buy idea of Ericy jv on Palm. Big investment for only one platform.
