SportsLine Radio Kicks Off NFL Season on Westwood One/CBS Radio Sports
Breaking Stories, Live Updates Highlight Successful First Weekend

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Highlighted by being the first national news broadcast to report the deactivation of Deion Sanders this past Sunday, SportsLine Radio concluded a very successful first weekend of coverage of the National Football League on Westwood One/CBS Radio Sports. SportsLine produces two weekly programs for Westwood One/CBS Radio Sports, ''NFL Today'' from (11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., EDT) and ''NFL Sunday'' (7:30-8:00 p.m.), as well as producing pre-game, halftime and post-game reports, and in-game scoreboard updates.

Scott Kaplan and Sid Rosenberg, hosts of SportsLine's syndicated weekday program ''The Drive,'' also serve as hosts of the ''NFL Today,'' which broke the Deion Sanders deactivation story minutes after it occurred. The ''NFL Today'' format features live reports from every site in the NFL, providing for up-to-the-minute roster information, player updates and injury reports just prior to the start of each Sunday's games. Sunday's program also featured interviews with Jets center Kevin Mawae, Patriots linebacker Andy Katzenmoyer, and DBs Jimmy Hitchcock of the Vikings, Ray Buchanan of the Falcons and Carnell Lake of the Jaguars. ''NFL Sunday'' provides a recap of the day's action, complete with on-site reports and interviews, as well as a preview of the Sunday night game.

''SportsLine is committed to providing the most timely, up-to-date information we can, whether it's through our Web sites or via our radio production and distribution partners at Westwood One,'' said Mark Mariani, president of sales and marketing for SportsLine USA, Inc. ''The integration of cbs.sportsline.com's outstanding news organization with our radio production group is further demonstration of that commitment.''

SportsLine and Westwood One announced a three-year, $9 million promotional and programming strategic alliance in August.
