That's why I mentioned SLR and their earnings. As you know, early hype about Y2K slowdown was supposedly going to affect pc purchases in the third and fourth quarter. SLR's beating earnings estimates indicates that demand is still in the market place. I hadn't heard whether or not they had a conference call with a warning for the remaining calendar year.

Oracle's earnings tomorrow and the associated conference call should provide a clue as to whether software sales will slow down in the remaining months of this year. Oracle's stock price has run up in the past week on anticipation that business is good. On the other hand, Oracle has been known to shoot themselves in the foot from time to time.
