Westergaard Broadcasting Network.com (WBN) announced today the formation of Westergaard Technology Group in association with a past Hambrecht & Quist (NYSE:HQ) Research Director, Duane Kirkpatrick. The San Francisco-based group will provide investment research on micromidcap technology companies in the WBNcyberStation(TM) format, an original Internet broadcasting and publishing concept.
Mr. Westergaard stated: "Few securities analysts over the past 30 years have been more intimately associated with high-tech investment analysis than Duane Kirkpatrick. Moving to Wall Street in the '70s following 10 years at IBM, Kirkpatrick's career has encompassed senior positions at three West Coast investment banks: Hambrecht & Quist (Director of Research), Robertson Colman Stephens & Woodman (IPOs and venture capital), and his own firm, Woodman Kirkpatrick & Gilbreath (acquired by H&Q)."
Mr. Westergaard will introduce Mr. Kirkpatrick this evening to listeners of his popular Internet show, "Johnny Dotcom's Journal" at RadioWallStreet (www.vcall.com). The Kirkpatrick Group's initial cyberstation -- EDGAR Online, Inc. (NASDAQ:EDGR) to broadcast under the call letters WBN-EDGR -- is scheduled for activation next week following construction of a WBN Briefing Room.
Mr. Kirkpatrick stated: "After some 40 years of publishing investment research by traditional means, for me to now begin to work in this astonishing new Internet-based WBNcyberStation(TM) medium is as if I've been born again. Moreover, I am particularly pleased to introduce EDGAR Online as the first example of the coverage we will be providing at Westergaard Technology Group.
"EDGR is what I call a 'nothing happens without' kind of company. No serious investment research can happen without reference to basic SEC filings obtained via EDGAR Online. I believe EDGR will emerge over the next several years as among a handful of core Internet holdings that institutions will feel they 'have to' own."
Upon completion of a $2 million private placement in January, Westergaard Broadcasting Network.com (WBN) www.wbn.com broke ground as the first and as yet only Internet-based institutional research provider. Nine senior analysts from top line firms have signed on as Contributing Analysts. They carry responsibility for managing WBNcyberStations(TM) in a proprietary format designed to help define public companies to Internet online investors and protect them from rumor mongering message board posters.
WBN offers a standing $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification of persons purposefully posting misleading or fraudulent information directed at any of the 15 WBNcyberStations(TM) currently activated or under construction. Westergaard estimates there are literally thousands of public companies with market caps under $1 billion that need to be professionally defined to online investors.
